The Department of Finance, through the Consumer Tax Bureau, asks the Puerto Rico Police, through communication, to inspect the armories with a renewal date. This request must be filed thirty (30) days before the due date. Gunsmith licenses are subject to approval and certification by the Police, after inspection, of the security measures required in the building where the establishment is located. This includes premises for new armories. In addition, through the Armory Inspection Division, the Police carries out a quarterly inspection in order to confirm that the security measures in those localities are working, in accordance with the provisions of the Weapons Act. Using the methodology of Council for Community and Economic Research (hereinafter, C2ER), a non-profit professional organization dedicated to research on community and economic development, the Institute of Statistics is responsible for collecting the prices of goods and services within the categories of supermarket, housing, transportation, public services and miscellaneous items. The data is sent to C2ER, who calculate the average prices and indices for each of the categories, allowing the comparison of costs with the equivalent cost in the United States. Finally, the Cost of Living Index (COLI) is calculated, which the C2ER has been preparing since 1968 for more than 300 urban areas in the United States and which Puerto Rico joined in the second quarter of 2014. The prices are published for users through a cost of living calculator, which makes it possible to compare the cost of living in Puerto Rico versus that of another city in the United States and vice versa. The Puerto Rico Cost of Living Index includes average prices three times a year for the following 56 product categories: ribeye steak, ground beef, sausage, fried chicken, canned tuna, whole milk, eggs, margarine, parmesan cheese, potatoes, guineos, lettuce, specialty bread, china juice, coffee, sugar, corn flake cereal, green peas, peaches, face towels, dishwashing detergent, extra virgin olive oil, frozen food, fresh corn, frozen whole corn, potatoes soft drinks, apartment rental, house price, energy total, landline, tire balancing, gasoline, visit to an optometrist, visit to a doctor, dental cleaning, ibuprofen, Lantus insulin, hamburger, pizza, fried chicken, men's cut, hair care for women (washing, drying and trimming), toothpaste, hair shampoo, dry cleaning for men's label, men's shirt, pants for boys, pants for women, washing machine, subscription to newspapers, movies, bowling, tennis balls, veterinary services, beer and wine.

This valuation report is only an estimate of the financial situation of the system as of a single date. Neither the future condition of the system can be predicted nor can it guarantee future financial strength. Actuarial valuations do not affect the final cost of the benefit system. In addition, the JP includes, for the first time since the 1980s, estimates of direct investment in the amounts and movements of capital between Puerto Rico and abroad.

Based on information provided by taxpayers in Form 482, known as the “Individual Income Tax Form.”
It consists of multiple interactive control panels that enable the analysis and visualization of the most relevant financial indicators of the retail banking industry in Puerto Rico. For ease of use and portability, the end user can obtain access at any time and free of cost to the reports available in PDF and Excel. The information provided is obtained through the official databases of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Statistical information is presented through historical series or quarterly and annual observations. Among the main retail commercial banks analyzed are: Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, FirstBank Puerto Rico, Banco Santander Puerto Rico, Oriental Bank and Scotiabank de Puerto Rico.

These data are obtained annually from the Technology and Information Technology Area of the Department of Finance for a specific period, which means that they may vary due to the continuity of the process of audits and amendments to the forms.

The Puerto Rico Economic Summary Journal presents a compendium of the main economic indicators, both for Puerto Rico, the United States and the international context, with their respective analyses, graphs and tables.
It includes statistics in tables and graphs provided by: 1) Special Investigations Negotiated: number of issues before its consideration, which can be converted into investigations. The investigations received and concluded, the persons accused and the charges filed are compared. It includes cases related to organized crime and drugs, public integrity and violation of civil rights, including the disappearance of children and protection of victims and witnesses, among others. 2) Office of the Attorney General: movement of cases on appeal in different forums. In civil cases, the forums may be: Circuit Court of Appeals, Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, Federal Circuit Court of Boston, and Supreme Court of the United States. In criminal cases, the forums are the Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. Each one compares the number of cases received, those completed and whether they were won, lost or not filed. The Attorney General's report also contains cases referred to for the professional conduct of lawyers. Determinations can range from files, suspensions and even challenges. 3) Assistant Advisory Secretariat: opinions, proposals and legislative projects that are evaluated and commented on by the Department of Justice. In addition, it compares the number of requests for legal representation of officials sued in the exercise of their functions under Act No. 9. 4) Office of Monopolistic Affairs: data related to the movement of cases and complaints of possible monopolistic practices and violations of the closure law, as well as inquiries about the location of gas stations.
The report collects the average daily population of juvenile offenders in institutions, broken down by center and status.
It includes statistics in tables and graphs provided by: 1) the Office of the Attorney General for Juvenile Affairs: data disaggregated into 13 districts on the movement of cases and charges in the stages of criminal prosecution of minors (Movement of Investigations, Movement of Misdemeanors for Determination of Probable Cause, and Movement of Misdemeanors submitted to Adjunctive Hearing).
