Explanatory Memorial requested by the Joint Commission for the Continuous Review of the Puerto Rico Criminal Code for the public hearing entitled “Protecting Minors in Digital Environments: Identifying Legal Gaps in the Puerto Rico Criminal Code Regarding Grooming in Preparatory Stages, Cyberbullying as an Autonomous Crime and Sextortion of Minors

To order the Health and Nutrition Commission; and the Committee on Education, Training and Individual Development of the Puerto Rico Senate to conduct an investigation regarding the administration of the revalidity exam for aspiring doctors, in order to determine if it has been administered in accordance with the provisions of Law 139? 2008, known as the “Medical Licensing and Discipline Board Act”; and to the criteria that apply in the United States for the same type of exam offered in Puerto Rico.

Date: May 22, 2025 P. of C. 562: To amend Article 2.01 of Chapter 2 of Act No. 122-2017, known as the “New Government of Puerto Rico Act”, and the first paragraph of Article 3 of Act No. 209-2003, as amended, known as the “Puerto Rico Statistics Institute Act”, for the purpose of including the Puerto Rico Statistics Institute among the entities exempt from the provisions of the above-mentioned Act No. 122 and to express such exclusion in such laws, in order to preserve nature of the Institute of Statistics of Puerto Rico as an autonomous administrative and fiscally independent entity of the Executive Branch of the Government of Puerto Rico; and make technical corrections.
