Date: October 5, 2021

To designate March 21 of each year as the “National Day for the Eradication of Racism and Affirmation of Afro-Descendancy”, as part of efforts to eliminate any manifestation of racial and/or ethnic discrimination from our society; to designate the week during the month of March in which the Day for the Abolition of Slavery is commemorated as the Week for the Eradication of Racism and Affirmation of Afro-Descent; to repeal Law 138-1996; and for other related purposes.

To amend Article 13 of Law 209-2003, as amended, known as the “Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics Act”, for the purpose of ordering all governmental entities of the Government of Puerto Rico, municipalities and public corporations to make all their financial information available to citizens on the official website of the Institute of Statistics, in compliance with the public policy of transparency and openness of information; validity and; for other related purposes.

To direct the Senate of Puerto Rico’s Committees on Family, Women, the Elderly, and Persons with Functional Diversity and Disabilities; and on Health to conduct an investigation into the abandonment of elderly individuals in hospitals, the number of cases, the most affected areas or municipalities, the reasons for this, and its impact on the hospital industry, as well as to provide potential alternatives and protocols that should be implemented to eliminate this practice; and for other related purposes.
