To order the Social Welfare and Aging Affairs; and Life and Family Committees of the Puerto Rico Senate to conduct an investigation into child abuse in Puerto Rico, including, but not limited to: handling complaints of child abuse and the services provided to victims by the Department of the Family, the Department of Health, the Department of Education, the Puerto Rico Police and the Department of Justice; the methodology and collection of child abuse statistics in Puerto Rico used by government agencies such as: the Department of the Family, the Puerto Rico Police, the Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics; examine the processes for updating and reliability of statistics and government efforts for the prevention of child abuse.

To order the Labor Affairs and Public Service Retirement Systems Committees and the Federal and International Affairs and Veterans Affairs Committees of the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico to conduct a thorough investigation into the impact that an increase in the minimum wage would have on Puerto Rico.

To add new paragraphs to Article 2 of Law No. 254-2002, known as the “Office of Guidance and Services to Foreign Citizens in Puerto Rico”, which is attached to the Department of State, so that this office creates and keeps up to date a catalog of public entities, both local and federal, as well as third sector entities, local and international, that provide services and support to immigrants, regardless of the immigration status of the persons served; and for other related purposes.
