To amend Article 3 of Law 209-2003, as amended, known as the “Puerto Rico Statistics Institute Act” to provide that the Office of the Comptroller shall establish at its discretion the frequency of audits of the accounts and operations of the Puerto Rico Statistics Institute.

To add a subparagraph (l) to Article 8 of Law 209? 2003, as amended, known as the “Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics Act”, for the purpose of providing that the Board of Directors shall have as part of its duties and powers the authority to adopt ethical standards applicable to any person who works in the statistical units of government agencies or who advises, intervenes or collaborates with the Statistical Production Service of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; and for other purposes.

To order the Puerto Rico Statistics Institute, in coordination with the Puerto Rico Police, to develop and implement a “georeferencing” or “crimespotting” program on interactive crime maps that provide information on the location of criminal activity as a tool to promote access to reliable information about the crime incidence in our communities and strengthen the development of effective strategies to address citizen security problems at the local level; and for other purposes.
