Response to Senate Request for Information 202/033: The Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics presents the following information regarding the Puerto Rico Senate information request 2022 033 submitted by Senator Rosa Vélez, approved on March 22, 2022.

To amend Article 5 of Law 143-2014, “Protocol Act to Ensure Effective Communication Between the Security Components of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Criminal Justice Information System”, to include the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics as a member of the Intergovernmental Committee of the Criminal Justice Information System; and for other necessary and related purposes.

To create the “Puerto Rico Tourism Satellite Account System Act” to present fundamental economic information on the impact of tourism in relation to Gross Domestic Product, gross value added, employment, taxation and the direct and indirect value that tourism brings to the economy of Puerto Rico, in order to develop policies aimed at boosting and developing the tourism sector in Puerto Rico.
