The Intellectual Property Registry is a mechanism created by Act No. 96 of July 15, 1988, amended under Act No. 55 of March 9, 2012, to protect the so-called moral rights of the Puerto Rican author or foreign resident in Puerto Rico, with respect to their creation, namely, the preservation of their integrity, disclosure and retraction of the same within the situations contemplated by the Act.
