It presents information extracted from the annual reports of insurers filed with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, an analysis of insurance carried out in Puerto Rico, and a demonstration of insurers authorized to contract insurance businesses in Puerto Rico, including address, date of authorization, classes of insurance contracted, funds, deposits for the benefit of policyholders in Puerto Rico, and how they have been invested.

Objective:

1) Comply with the provisions of Article 2,040 of the Puerto Rico Insurance Code.

2) Provide a summary of the financial results and the performance of the insurance sector in the Puerto Rican economy.

Main Variables

Total number of insurers, total number of health service organizations, total number of intermediaries, total assets, total aggregate life insurance reserves, total aggregate disability insurance reserves, total liabilities, and others.

Frequency of release of the report:

Yearly

Reference Population:

National insurer, foreign insurer, eligible insurer of excess lines, health service organizations and reinsurers.
