This report presents several laws in Puerto Rico, aimed at addressing the crisis of gender-based violence, as well as improving the system of government statistics on surviving and fatal victims of gender-based violence. In addition, this report provides an overview of the current state of gender-based violence statistics, available and generated by some government agencies. It also includes a preliminary inventory of the statistics of gender-based violence produced by some of the agencies most relevant to this topic; in the same way, information obtained about the data collection systems in these agencies and the limitations that may exist to collect and publish the statistics in a timely manner is included.
