The PAA School Day (PAA-SD) project provides twelfth grade students with the opportunity to participate in the administration of such a test during school hours. The legal basis for this initiative is Law 146 of 2013, known as the “Equal Opportunity and Access to Higher Education Act”, later amended by Act 186 of 2015 and Act 13 of April 2, 2019. The main objective of the law is to provide equal opportunities to public school students, offering them free tests (PAA and SAT, respectively) offered by the College Board for admission to higher education institutions located in Puerto Rico and the United States of America. The requirements established by law for students to participate in the administration of PAA-SD are as follows: ▪ Candidates must be students in the Puerto Rico public education system. ▪ They must currently be in the twelfth grade of high school. ▪ Students will have the right to take one of the tests under the benefits of this law while they are in the twelfth grade.
