Study on the use of agricultural water in Puerto Rico

Description:

It estimates the current water demand and the projected demand for the year 2025 for agriculture in Puerto Rico. The study is part of an integrated DRNA effort to update Puerto Rico's Comprehensive Plan for the Conservation, Development and Use of Water Resources. Some of the information is presented in a graphical format using a geographic information system (GIS). The study uses the Penman-Monteith method to estimate water use. Key words: water demand, conservation, land use.

Objective:

Analyze the current and projected water demand for 2025 in Puerto Rico's agriculture, applying the Penman-Monteith method and the Geographic Information System (GIS).
