This report presents employment and wage information by occupation for all existing Industrial Activity in Puerto Rico according to the North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) system. It takes into consideration people who worked or received pay in the pay period that included May 12, 2008. For each Industrial Activity, a table is presented that includes employment, the Average Wage and the Median Wage for all occupations that met the confidentiality requirements of the Federal Government. Data for 2009 will be available soon and work has already begun on the publication at the local level.
This report was designed to collect and publish information on employment and wages by occupation of workers in non-agricultural establishments disseminated by Industrial Activity. This information is used by employers to determine the salaries to be paid in their Industry to the new people they employ, because the Minimum Wage Board, which established guidelines for employers, no longer exist.
