The statistical report presents the results of the survey conducted in public schools to a sample of students between 9th and 12th grade for the reference year, broken down by grade and by gender. Statistics are included on the following topics: a) personal safety of students, b) behaviors related to violence (including intimate partner violence, 'bullying' and 'cyberbullying'), c) suicide feelings and attempts, d) smoking cigarettes, e) drinking alcoholic beverages, f) marijuana use, g) use of other drugs, h) sexual behavior, i) body weight, j) nutrition, k) physical activity, l) other health topics you have been taught at school, m) folic acid and n) other demographic characteristics.
1) Monitor the following types of risky behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death and disability among adolescents and adults: a) Behaviors that contribute to unintentional injury and violence; b) Sexual behaviors that contribute to unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV; c) Use of alcohol and other drugs; d) Use of tobacco; e) Unhealthy nutritional behaviors; and f) Inadequate physical activity.2) Evaluate the impact of federal, state and local programs on the prevention of risky behaviors.3) Evaluate progress towards the objectives established by the Department of Education's School Health Program.4) Provide information for the design of prevention and comprehensive school health programs.
