Description:

On June 30, 2016, the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Act, known as “PROMESA”, was enacted under Public Law 114-187. Section 409 of PROMESA established a “Congressional Working Group on Economic Growth in Puerto Rico” composed of eight members (“Working Group”). In July 2016, under Section 409 (b), two members of the Working Group were appointed by House Speaker Paul Ryan; two by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi; two by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell; and two by Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.

Objective:

Provide a report from the bipartisan “Task Force” established by the PROMESA Act on the economic development of Puerto Rico
