Description:

A three-year statistical report that makes known to the public the level of commercial fishing that occurs in the territorial waters of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The DRNA collects data from the fishermen themselves, from the fishmongers and from the fishermen's associations. It is done as part of compliance with the PR Fisheries Act (Act No. 278 of 1998).

Objective:

Collect commercial fishing data in all coastal municipalities in Puerto Rico. Estimate fishing effort (Catch per Unit Effort). Collect biostatistical data related to fishing (size, weight, type of species).
