Study on deaths due to suffocation due to submersion during the period from 1990 to 2010. This study was sponsored by the Sea Grant Program of the University of Puerto Rico (PSGUPR) and its Aquatic Safety Project for Puerto Rico. The study presents statistics on the demographic characteristics of people who die from suffocation by submersion and also presents data on the regions with the highest frequency of drowning.
