The Puerto Rico Statistics Institute has a vacancy, under the transitory service structure, for:
STATISTICAL PROJECT ASSISTANT
Statistical Project Team
(Salary Scale $2,625 - $4,000)
The Statistical Project Assistant (Transitional) supports Statistical Project Managers in the development and implementation of statistical projects. Ensures that the Institute's databases are up to date. It supports research and the preparation of reports and presentations. Answer simple questions that arise about statistics.
Baccalaureate from an accredited university or college in statistics, mathematics, computer science or in any area in which extensive use of statistics is made, including economics, planning, demography, epidemiology, biostatistics, criminology, sociology, public policy, public administration, business administration, or other related matters.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in work related to the collection, management and analysis of data and statistics.
Computer skills, including advanced statistical programs, MS Office and others
Skills in quantitative statistical methods
Ability to develop, manage and document databases
Analytical capacity
Ability to search for and use sources of statistical information
Excellent verbal and written communication in Spanish and English
Teamwork skills and effective interpersonal relationships
Good writing skills
Excellent work ethic
Current Puerto Rican driver's license and ownership of a car
The exam will consist of evaluating academic preparation and work experience.
Also, through an interview, the proficiency of the Spanish and English languages, technical knowledge and interpersonal communication skills will be examined
The established eligibility record will be canceled once the position is filled.

You must also include the following documents (no more than 90 days from the date of opening this call): a Debt Certification and a Certificate of Filing of Payroll from the Department of Finance, Criminal Record Certificate from the Puerto Rico Police, Certification of Compliance from ASSUME, and a copy of your Puerto Rico driver's license (valid).
