Description:

The Report presents the number of members of the correctional population who were tested for controlled substances administered by the Institute of Forensic Sciences of Puerto Rico in correctional institutions, programs, number of positives, negatives, refusals and types of substances.

Objective:

1) Determine the incidence of controlled substance use among members of the correctional population.

2) Evaluate the trend in consumption over time.

3) Develop treatment programs for addiction to psychoactive substances.

4) Develop public policy to avoid consumption.
